Amélie left me,
she fled, and summer got frozen.
I thought I had her, damnit,
I’d swore she was mine.
But, in the end, she was missing,
and nothing could substitute her,
every promise we did,
every kiss went an illusion at last.
Like ice melts in my whiskey glass,
our history fades, our love did not last,
a lone umbrella under your blue sky,
a dirty piece of paper that’s trying to fly.
Just tell me, Amélie,
do you even mean it,
or else, have you forsaken me
so lightly?
And, now, life seems strange,
without you, it’s colourless,
seems to have no more charm,
and guess you won’t notice.
I thought I was acting right,
I thought my choices were correct,
the very first time that I could
feel it that way.
And every shard of me,
of my mistreated heart,
still belongs to you,
even if you don’t mind.
Like ice melts in my whiskey glass,
our history fades, our love did not last,
a lone umbrella under your blue sky,
a dirty piece of paper that’s trying to fly.
Just tell me, Amélie,
do you even mean it,
or else, have you forsaken me
so lightly?
And, now, life seems strange,
without you, it’s colourless,
and I can’t stand it, no more,
Just tell me, Amélie,
do you even mean it,
or else, have you forsaken me
so lightly?
And, now, life seems strange,
without you, it’s colourless,
seems to have no more charm,
and guess you won’t notice.
With this song, nothing changes,
but I still need to write it down, to give it in,
because, even if I know
that “we” is forbidden, I still dream of it,
I just can’t give you up, Amélie!
